Welcome to My Professional Site

I am Dr. Prithish Halder, Adjunct Faculty at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My work spans cosmic dust, solar physics, light scattering, atmospheric aerosols, and nanoscience.

About Me

I am Dr. Prithish Halder, an astrophysicist with a strong background in cosmic dust modeling, light scattering theory, and solar magnetic topology. I am currently an Adjunct Faculty at the Department of Physics & Astronomy, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA.

My academic journey includes postdoctoral fellowships at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) and Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), where I developed tools like JaSTA and REST for simulating realistic cosmic dust particles. I earned my PhD from Assam University, India, focusing on the optical properties of cosmic dust aggregates.

My multidisciplinary research interests span dust in astrophysics, solar flares and energetic particles, aerosols and airborne microplastics, and plasmonics in nanoscience. I have experience with high-performance computing and machine learning, and I have participated in international workshops and observatory-based projects across India and Japan.

I am an active member of the International Astronomical Union and Astronomical Society of India, and was recently awarded the Seal of Excellence by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions in 2025.
